my name is butch hirst, and i'm amazed to find someone is modeling the 'bird i drove in a couple races.back in '70. that is 41 years ago. i will gladly send you one of the original postcards that STP gave me- out of 5000 cards i've got 4 or 5 left. my e-mail address is mailto:austinhirst@yahoo.com. there isn't no charge. a little info on richard brown- his source of income came from being a hitman. i found this out when we went to charlotte to try to find a sponsor for '71 we didn't. i was going to be out of a job so he kinda beat around the bush in asking  me if i wanted to look a little closer. goes without saying  that i said NO. lost touch with him, then in a lakeland news paper about '91 there was a small article about him being shot in the back of the head sitting in his recliner in his living room. live by the sword, die by the sword....he was  in a heap of trouble.....well bernie, i'll go for now- e-mail me about the postcard and i'll be honored to send you one thanx again.....butch

Bernie, whenever I build a model I always come to your site first for reference photos. Photos of the real car is what I'm looking for, and you usually have some. Is Plattos place your decal site? If so it would be nice if you resized your 2011 decals to 1/25 scale to fit the new amt cot. The other decal makers dont seem to want to do this.

Thank you for sharing these photographs. Especially enjoy the TransAm series pictures. I have several of mine from the 5th round in 1968 at Warbonnet Raceway that I would be glad to share and honoured to be included here if you might so desire.

    cheers

A lot of the cars you have pictures of still show up here in Sebring for the Historical races before the 12 Hour and I will try and get more pics in March of 2011....

I used your collection of photos to illustrate the seatbelts in the 1966 Ford GT-40 on the Grand Prix Modelers Association web forum. (www.gpma.org) I thought you would like to see the comments of some of the other members.

Loved all your 60s NASCAR photos. I found two pictures of my father-in -law, John Rostek, #518 & #606. I have neither of these photos and would love copies. I have several other photos from 1958 thru 1963 and a photo of his '63 Ford on the transport. I can email these to you if you're interested. I can't figure out how to do it on this site. Let me know, thanks. RR

What a treasure trove. Brief bio- Youthful 77 yr WASP. Attended Indy 500 51,52,53,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,ect. That could get boring, i guess but you get the idea. Have been a car nut since ordering a 25 cent mag from "Ray F.Kuns" pubishler of Cleveland Ohio in 1943 at the age of 10 yrs. Just wanted you to know that i love your whole site. Of course, i have made many !!!!! photos and maybe can share them if i can figure how to scan and send them to you. I wanted to respond since there doesen't seem to be much feedback for you in this guestbook. There are many photos on your site that i consider priceles. Keep up the quality work. Bill
